I am an emerging Portland artist and art
educator. My interest in art ranges from
painting, collage, ceramics, jewelry and
fibers.

I create dreamscapes, poetic and surreal
spaces, filled with unexpected gems,
objects, words and ideas; oddly situated
amongst ethereal and bodacious fields of
color, enticing emotions and igniting
imagination. I am attracted to organic
shapes, complex textures, found objects and
text. I find the richest, most luscious
combinations of colors and elements to
create a piece that establishes a variety
of flavors for the visual senses.

My paintings are not exact maps, but a
quiet idea, a snapshot from a dream or a
line from a beautiful poem. They are meant
to lead you to your subconscious; where it
takes you is up to your personal experience
and imagination.

I received my B.A in Studio Art from
Southern Oregon University in 1995. My
studio concentration was in painting
and drawing. In 1998 I graduated from
Portland State University with a Masters
degree in Art Education. I have been
teaching for the past 10 years at private
art centers, youth non-profit organizations
and public middle schools.
